Who are you
A poem by- Moncus
Who are you
how long must i stand in the cold cold rain
that relentlessly soaks deep within to the bone
with hope desire a need of want just to see you
my sweet sweet rapunzel when do you let down your hair
are you that raven haired beauty i see and watch twice each day
in the awkward trek of to and fro only for reward of added dollar
is that perhaps you serving my coffee with awkward shy smile of innocence
knowing i have noticed more than once the fragile nature of your young eager heart
might you be the one standing near the corner off into the light shadows
keeping your beaten down look of despair hidden from watchful eyes
as you ply your trade yet again to the johns unknown unwelcome undeserving
do you like fresh flowers you ask toward me as you hawk
your just cut wares to all that pass then quickly ask another the same
just who are you that i see but everyday and why have i this need of memory
as i search wandering about for another chance at life
